Our mission at Ferraro Brain and Spine is centered around you. We are a neurosurgery practice that
specializes in assessing and treating surgical disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nerves. Dr.
Ferraro is a board-certified neurosurgeon who provides a tailored approach, presenting both surgical
and non-surgical treatment options with an emphasis on conservative management when appropriate.
Each patient is provided an individualized treatment plan based on their diagnosis, medical
history, social factors, and personal preferences. Dr. Ferraro is personally involved throughout all stages
of evaluation, treatment, and post-operative recovery. Our surgeries are performed at the top hospitals
and surgery centers where the most advanced technologies are readily available in Frisco, Plano, and
McKinney. Dr. Ferraro has extensive training in minimally invasive and standard ‘open’ surgical
techniques for brain and spine surgery. Dr. Ferraro’s clinical interests are brain tumors, spine tumors,
complex revision spine surgery, and motion-preserving spine surgery for golfers.

Meet Dr. Ferraro

Dr. Nicholas Ferraro is a board-certified neurological surgeon who treats surgical disorders of the brain, spinal cord, spinal column, and peripheral nerves. With extensive training and years of experience, he utilizes the latest surgical techniques to provide his patients with the highest quality care.

Neurosurgery has been a lifelong passion for Dr. Ferraro. It was after a third-grade book report on the human brain that Dr. Ferraro first decided he wanted to become a brain surgeon. Nine years later, Dr. Ferraro was able to experience neurosurgery first-hand when he shadowed a local neurosurgeon as part of his high school mentorship program. From there he was hooked.

Dr. Ferraro continued to pursue his dream by attending Baylor University. At Baylor, Dr. Ferraro graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the Honors College. He then attended medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, located in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.

After medical school, Dr. Ferraro was accepted to train with the prestigious Department of Neurosurgery at Jackson Memorial Hospital and University of Miami Medical School in Miami, Florida. While in Miami, Dr. Ferraro developed a special interest in the surgical treatment of brain tumors, spinal column and spinal cord tumors, and complex revision spine surgery.

After residency, Dr. Ferraro returned to his home state of Texas. He accepted a job with Baylor Scott & White Neurosurgery Associates and was appointed to the position of Director of Neurological Surgery at Baylor Scott & White Regional Medical Center at Grapevine, where he spent five years building the neurosurgery program.

To fully pursue his clinical, professional, and research interests, Dr. Ferraro left his position with Baylor Scott & White to start his own surgical practice, Ferraro Brain and Spine, PLLC in Frisco, TX in 2024. He is excited to continue caring for patients throughout the DFW metroplex with the same level of clinical excellence and personable care that he is known for.

Dr. Ferraro lives in Frisco, TX. He is an avid golfer and baseball fan. If he is not in the hospital or clinic, you will likely find him on the golf course or attending a Texas Rangers game.

Dr. Ferraro is one of the BEST doctors/surgeons I have ever had. I have had 3 spinal surgeries, he is the surgeon that did my last surgery and has improved my quality of life tremendously. What a phenomenal doctor/surgeon! I was so thankful my primary care doctor recommended him! When I walked into his office, he never ever rushed me & answered all my questions with compassion. I had quite a bit going on and in immense pain. I ended up needing two surgeries in one week ( one on my cervical spine & one on my lower lumbar ). He completed both with no complications. I ended up staying in the hospital 10 days but every day he was working, he was there checking in on me. Once again, he never rushed talking to me in the hospital. I have enormous amount of trust for him after he kept his word, showed compassion for my situation, & left me in no pain after surgery. Speaks volumes of him, his character, & that he loves his job. I would put my only son in the extremely skilled hands of Dr.Ferraro. I first met Dr. Ferraro in the E.R. after suffering a compound fracture of my lower spine. He clearly explained his recommended course of action, the risks, and the alternatives. Dr. Ferraro struck me as straightforward, and extremely confident in his skills while still possessing a sense of personal humility. A rare combination. The complex surgery was without complication and my recovery exceeded everyone’s expectations. A week after leaving the hospital, I was pain free using only OTC Tylenol to manage the aches I sometimes experience after a long walk.
